Zonta Club of Tuguegarao provides HugZ of Hope for pediatric patients
For everyone, there is a pretty good chance that most of our best memories feature a good old-fashioned hug. It is celebratory, reassuring, comforting and calming.
The Zonta Club of Tuguegarao, Philippines, recently hosted A Day of Giving HugZ of Hope event. The club, through Club President Maria Olivia B. Pascual, raised funds to buy teddy bears that were given to pediatric patients, girls in particular, who are battling cancer and other kinds of diseases.
There have been many legitimate studies conducted about the hug’s incredible powers. These teddy bears soothe children’s frightening moments in the hospital and give them calmness.
No words can express the unexplainable joy that the club members experienced as they gave teddy bears to the kids from the Cagayan Valley Medical Center, the largest hospital in the region, and other hospitals in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.
The club wholeheartedly gives its appreciation to Mayor Florante C. Pascual for generously donating 300 bears, and to all the HugZ donors for making this project possible.
Life can truly be difficult for these girls as they battle for their lives and experience the excruciating pain of laboratory and other hospital procedures. The club wishes to give out hope and assurance through HugZ to leave them feeling safe and secure.
