Zonta Club of Tuguegarao supports reading literacy campaign
Recognizing the pressing need to address reading comprehension issues among 7th and 8th graders, the Zonta Club of Tuguegarao, Philippines, partnered with like-minded organizations to support the Department of Education's Drop Everything and Read (DEAR) initiative. More than just a literacy campaign, the initiative serves as a beacon of hope for students who struggle to grasp the written word.
The club's journey to educational excellence is thanks to the collaborative efforts of the Z Club of Lal-lo National High School, the local government unit and the school's administrators. Most importantly, the reading program's success is thanks to the unwavering support of Club President Olivia B. Pascual, the Z club's leaders headed by Club President Alhyra Joy Fortozo, the Z club advisors, the school principal and the executive assistant of the city's mayor. These passionate individuals serve as mentors and role models, inspiring students to unlock their full potential and strive for academic excellence, especially in addressing the educational challenges facing the youth today.
The student club donated the books used in the DEAR Program from money generated through their Your Penny for My Education project.
