Melanne Verveer is the executive director of the Georgetown University Institute for Women, Peace and Security, which seeks to enhance national and global security by documenting the crucial role women play in peacebuilding and security through research and scholarship and by engaging with global leaders on the urgent issues of our time.
In September, Melanne met with Lynne Foley OAM, the Zonta Spirit Working Group Chair, for a conversation about embracing women leadership, prioritizing women's voices and safety and more.
“We traveled the world and worked with women by putting a spotlight on the difference they were making, inspiring leaders to see what a difference it made in their country,” Melanne said. “It helped galvanize the spirit and bring about the kind of change that was necessary.”
